The chain, from junk to a battery

Fandom has no real page for Eel-ectronics. Advanced Eel-ectronics is a different item and its wiki stub is 31 bytes, so I will not borrow that stub and pretend it describes this one. What I do have is a Steam thread from 16 Apr 2025, “Where do I find Eel-lectronics?” — players spell it with an extra L — and the building codex. The thread’s chain is: pick up electro junk, run it through a Recycler to get Electric Scrap, then combine that scrap with Metal Scrap at an Electro Crafter. The codex prices the Electro Crafter at 4 floaters and 4 Electric Scrap. Outputs named in the codex are the Battery, the Engine and the Solar Panel.

A second practical note from that thread: the boat you start in already holds some power, described as 10 production and 1,000 stored, and the cables have to be connected to the boat. Parking a generator beside the hull without a link does nothing. I have one thread for the cable point. Quantity of scrap per craft is not in the thread, so the recipe stays “Electric Scrap + Metal Scrap” without a count.

Why the name keeps breaking search

People search Eel-lectronics, eel electronics, and “where do I find eels”. The energy unit is also called an Eel, and the 1.0 Industry region mentions electric eels as a hazard. This page is only the crafted component. If your generators already show a number and you are hunting a creature, you are on the power guide, not here. If the crafter sits dark, you are short Electric Scrap or you never hooked the cable to the hull. Advanced Eel-ectronics, whatever it becomes in a later patch, is not substituted in the battery recipe on this page.
