Where the piles actually are

Aluminum Scrap is filed as an unrefined resource. The wiki page does not record a weight, and I am not going to borrow Metal Scrap’s 5 and hope it is close. Two places are named. An achievement guide talks about an Aluminum Warehouse inside the polluted city. A Steam thread about scrap “no longer available” plus that same guide point at factory landmarks, and players in the thread say those factories show up more often the further you sail from the start. One person mentioned finding the factory they needed around 120,000 distance. I keep that as a player report, not as a spawn coordinate.

The processing building is the Scrapsmith, or the Eel-ectric Scrapsmith once you have power and the upgrade. The product is Aluminum Sheet. The achievement guide is the source that ties the sheet to advanced electronics and to spaceship parts. That is one source for the end use. I do not have a drop count per warehouse, so a farming route stops at “sail to factories, then the warehouse”, not “clear three rooms”.

How it differs from ordinary metal

Metal Scrap is the early, common plate feedstock from cars and gas stations. Aluminum shows up later, in industrial ruins, and it is the sheet the spaceship recipe asks for. If your Scrapsmith is still chewing car doors into plates, you are not behind on aluminum. You have not reached the polluted city yet. The travel page names that region as one of the two 1.0 additions, Industry, which is also where polluted goop and electric eels are discussed in the 1.0 notes. I am not merging “electric eels” the creature with “Eels” the energy unit. They share a word and nothing else.

Bring storage. Sheet is a refined good you will haul home, and town weight includes whatever sits in the yard. A warehouse run that fills the boat with scrap you cannot smelt yet is just ballast. Build the Scrapsmith before you promise the ship a pile of sheet.
