Two names, one gate

The specialists guide calls this person the Radio DJ. Steam’s achievement Trash Talker says you rescued the Radio Technician. I use Radio DJ in the title because that is the name in the long guide, and I put Radio Technician in the first sentence so both searches land. Both sources, plus the Korean walkthrough, put this recruit first: a story quest after the opening, then a Radio Station, then the ability to call other specialists. Crossing into a new biome can fire a broadcast. The guide is one source for that trigger. The station’s cost and size are not in the 43-building codex. I will not borrow a walkway price and call it close.

Two specialist quests can be active together. A third call sits until one finishes. If the radio feels idle, that queue is the first thing I would check, ahead of any “bug” rumour. Players do mention radio oddities. I do not have a patch note that names them, so they stay rumours.

Why rushing the station beats rushing a farmer

Later specialists are how half the research tree opens. The station is the phone, not a decoration. Radio Signals, added with 1.0, let you choose which contact to pursue, which matters once the list is longer than two. I would build the station before I invest in a specialist whose building I cannot power yet. The Electrician is the strongest upgrade in the set, and this page exists so you can reach that person on purpose. Quest step text is not published as an official list. The walkthrough page gives the story in phases instead of fake objective names.
