Weight is a movement budget

The wiki splits town weight into bands. Very Light is 0–500 and costs nothing extra. Light is 500–1,000 and adds 50% to movement cost. Medium is 1,000–1,500 at +100%. Heavy is 1,500–2,000 at +150%. Very Heavy is 2,000 and above at +200%. Past 5,000 you need the Tug, which the specialists guide says adds 2,500 to that cap. Town weight is the sum of what you spent to build, plus everything sitting in storage.

I cannot rank the heaviest building. The codex of 43 buildings has category, size for nine of them, cost for almost all, and output for 29. Weight, research unlock and power draw are empty on every row I checked. A “heaviest buildings” answer would be a guess, so the buildings table leaves that column blank and sorts empty values last if you sort it by eye.

How pieces attach

Buildings sit on walkways. The wiki says you can toggle snapping with K and the grid with N. The old Quick Start puts storage at the front of the Townheart so haulers walk less. Electric buildings affect beauty less than firewood buildings, according to the specialists guide. Decoration in the wiki is basically the Buoy Lamp. There is no published “best layout” drawing. What I will defend is a principle: spend weight on walkways and storage before you fill the back with decorations you cannot weigh.
